How to Share Widgets in INCYT With People Outside Your Operation

Most growers have people in their orbit who need to see specific farm data without needing access to everything. A contractor managing irrigation on one block. An agronomist keeping an eye on conditions across a critical growth stage. A neighbour who has a stake in what's happening at the boundary. The question is usually how to get the right information to the right person without handing over your entire account.

INCYT has a built-in solution for this. Widget sharing lets you share specific views of your sensor data with anyone you choose, privately and on your terms. Here is how it works.

Understanding what you can share

Widgets are the graphs and data displays that sit inside your INCYT Cockpit or within each sensor application screen. When you share a widget, you are giving someone a live view of that data. You are not giving them access to the rest of your INCYT organisation.

There are three sharing options available, and which one you use depends on how much you want to share.

Option 1: Share your entire cockpit

If you want to give someone a view of everything currently displayed in your cockpit, click the share button in the top right corner, then select Start New Sharing. From here you can choose whether the share link runs indefinitely or expires after a set period. Toggle this to suit the arrangement. You can then send the share to an individual via their email address, or if they are with you in person, let them scan the QR code directly from your screen.

Option 2: Share a specific application

If you only want to share widgets from one sensor application, navigate to that application via the application tab, then follow the same sharing process. This is useful when a contractor or supplier only needs visibility of one part of your monitoring setup.

Option 3: Share a custom dashboard

You can also build a dashboard containing only the widgets you want to share, then share that dashboard using the same method. This gives you the most control over what the recipient sees. If you want guidance on building custom dashboards, the Creating Dashboards video in the INCYT Academy walks through that process in full.

What happens for the person you share with

Once you share a widget, the recipient receives an email invitation. They will need to accept it, and they will be prompted to either create an INCYT account or log in with an existing one. The INCYT Academy also has a Creating a User Account video if they need help with that step.

If you want to check who currently has access to a shared widget, click the share button followed by the drop-down arrow. This is also where you stop sharing when the arrangement is no longer needed. The process works the same way on the mobile app.

A practical note

Widget sharing is designed for situations where partial visibility is the right call. It is not a workaround. It is a deliberate feature built to make it easier to keep the right people informed without compromising the privacy of your broader operation.

If you have questions about setting up sharing or need help configuring your dashboard, the INCYT support team is available at any time. The INCYT Academy is also a good starting point for anyone building familiarity with the platform.
